Nuclear power gets a boost in New York

New York’s new policy “can set the standard” for other states looking for “a comprehensive approach” to lowering carbon emissions, Browner said Monday, following the breakthrough in the Empire State.

“New York has been able to figure out a way to both create all of the important opportunities for renewables, like wind and solar, and for energy efficiency, but also keep existing nuclear plants on-line,” Browner said. “That’s very helpful to states as they think about these issues.”
