Nuclear Matters and its hundreds of thousands of supporters recognize the efforts of the “Green New Deal” to curb the devastating impacts of climate change. Recent studies show we are at a critical time and the need to enact meaningful change is now. We support efforts to generate power in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources. Nuclear power is the nation’s largest source of clean, zero-emission energy, providing nearly 20 percent of our nation’s power. Nuclear Matters stands with a growing chorus of scientific and environmental organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, Union of Concern Scientists and others, that have acknowledged nuclear power’s contributions to meeting the challenges of climate change.
