Nuclear Matters today issued the following statement on the release of the electric grid study from the Department of Energy:
“Nuclear Matters commends the Department of Energy for releasing its grid study which confirms the importance of nuclear energy. Baseload nuclear energy makes the grid more diverse, more resilient and protects the environment. We urge state and federal authorities to act quickly and adhere to the study’s recommendations to properly value the unique attributes and overall benefits that nuclear energy delivers to the nation. Preserving nuclear facilities is necessary to ensure that we have clean, reliable and resilient sources of electricity into the future.”
